Help Us Build Memo – The AI Care Companion for Every Family faced with age-related cognitive decline and dementia. One day, this will affect you or someone you love. We’ll be there for you!
The Unique Value Proposition of Memo
From the first diagnosis, or even when you feel that a family member is living with cognitive decline, simply use Memo, and you have a natural, spoken language guide to talk you through every step of the path ahead. Memo is continually plugged into the latest data updates, services available, professional support information… everything you need to be able to get straightforward, accurate answers.
Memo stands out by combining personalized, natural voice conversational AI, health monitoring, medication reminders, caregiver alerts, as well as vital reminiscence therapy, secure, private family communications, and a family legacy vault, all into a cohesive platform. Unlike many existing solutions that focus on one aspect, Memo offers a holistic approach to dementia care, ensuring users receive comprehensive support tailored to their needs.
We have been building something truly extraordinary that affects us all and will be the most important crowdfunded project of the year.
Imagine waking up one day to find your loved one confused, struggling to remember your name, or forgetting to take their medication. For millions of families, this isn’t imagination—it’s daily life. How do you even start to deal with it?
Dementia now touches the lives of 1 in 3 people globally. In the UK alone, nearly 1 million people are living with dementia, and many more families are watching the people they love slowly fade away. The emotional, physical, and financial burden is enormous—and it’s growing. Care can cost families everything. The NHS is overloaded.
We know. We’ve lived it. We Learned The Hard Way.
But what if families didn’t have to go through this alone?
Join Us. Build Memo. Together We Can Change Lives.
We all know someone touched by dementia. We all fear losing the ones we love. But now, we can do something about it—together. Help us to ensure no family walks this road alone. Help us make sure that our loved ones will never be forgotten.
The 24/7 AI Companion for Cognitive Support & Connection
Memo is far more than AI software. It’s a voice. A friend. A 24/7 helper. A lifeline.
Memo is an AI-powered home assistant that supports people living with cognitive decline and helps their families stay connected, informed, and supported, no matter where they are.
Memo gently reminds your loved one to take their medication, drink water, rest, and prepare for a family video call. But more than that, it encourages your loved ones to remember their life stories. Memo plays their favourite songs. It talks to them about their favourite memories and makes a record of them for future generations. Memo listens when they’re lonely and comforts, providing constant natural voice companionship. Memo also alerts family and professional support if there is an emergency, non-responsiveness, or when the family member might need urgent help. Memo is a 24/7 lifesaver!!!
A Conversation with Memo:
“Good morning, Martha. Did you sleep well?”
“That’s good. You had a change of medicine yesterday. Have you had any ill effects?”
“How are you feeling this morning?”
“It will be 25°C today—let’s drink some water and stay cool. Is your bottle filled?”
“Why don’t you make some breakfast now and a cup of tea?”
“At 6 pm, there’s a family video call—I’ll remind you 15 minutes before.”
“Shall we talk about your brother Peter today? You mentioned him yesterday. “
“Would you like to make an audio recording? I can transcribe it into writing for your journal. What are your earliest memories of Peter?”
“Martha, it is time to take your medicine. Please be sure to take the following”… (list of medications for mornings or any other times of day)
“It has been a lovely day, Martha, and it is time for bed now. Shall I play some relaxing music for 30 minutes?”
This is more than technology—it’s a real connection.
Memo transforms how we care for each other.
But, then, Memo can also get personal!
When my mother-in-law Kathleen was living with dementia, we urgently wanted to try to capture her life story from her childhood in Ireland to her adventures and travels, jobs, friends, and even her best jokes and favourite songs. Your children and their children will thank you for doing this also.. For us, it was haphazard, and bits of information were stored everywhere… Memo changes that.
Memo not only helps family members with cognitive decline, but also all members of the family to gather their lifetime’s memories, images, videos, journals, documents, certificates, wills, and legacies, all in one place, private, secure, and can be preserved for future generations. Memo guides this process using natural spoken language.
Now, Memo will guide the organised collection of a lifetime’s reminiscences and preserve them so that distant generations can meet you through your videos and images. You can tell your life’s story and even leave video messages for your descendants’ future life celebrations.
Building MEMO: The AI home Carer Chatbot for Dementia
One of the most important health projects of 2025
No One Prepared Us:
When a family member is diagnosed with dementia, there is precious little help to guide us or prepare us for the path ahead. What support is available? Who can we talk to? What is the average pace of mental decline? Are there special skills we need? How do we deal with emotional crises? Medications? 2nd opinions? Any skilled carer support? Who pays for what? What about the legal stuff? Power of Attorney? Is it too late for this?
We went through a great deal of sadness, confusion, a constant sense of loss, pressure on our time, and financial impacts that we had not planned for during Kathleen’s battle with Dementia, and no sherpa to guide us.
Of course, there are some wonderful charities and NHS care support and community organisations that give brilliant help… but we didn’t know that, we didn’t know the questions to ask or who to ask them to.
Memo is your Sherpa, your companion every step of the way.
OK, let’s talk some hard numbers here, and you may be very surprised.
There are almost a million people living with dementia in the UK, and that is just the reported cases. This is costing the Government £35.4 billion annually and is increasing rapidly. A big portion of the cost is providing accommodation for dementia sufferers who can no longer live independently. If families are having to pay for private accommodation, the cost is very high, each and every year. If Memo can keep a family member feeling happier and able to live independently for another year or two, the financial savings are significant.
Why Memo Matters
💙 Keeps loved ones safe and connected
🧠 Supports memory through gentle reminiscence therapy
🕰️ Extends independence, delays the need for institutional care
💷 Reduces strain on the NHS and families
🧬 Preserves family legacies for future generations
All memories recorded by Memo—stories, videos, photographs, messages—are stored securely and privately in your family’s digital vault. For now, and for the future. Each Family member has their own private silo or section and can also share content in the general vault.
Isolation & loneliness feed dementia.
Staying connected is vital for emotional health.
Give our loved ones not just a device, but a reason and daily routine to use it. We do not just provide them technology. We embed it into their life; one reminder, one supporting chat, one more life story from the memories of a lifetime, one friend remembered, one photo treasured, one smile at a long ago moment. Through natural conversation, Memo provides this support every day.
Friends are the emotional medicine that no doctor can prescribe. Memo is the golden link between friendships long past and those still current. Memo can be instructed to schedule regular calls with not just family, but also close friends to ensure mental and emotional stimulus.
Time-poor families do not need to suffer guilt and burnout trying to balance the work, family, lifestyle and caring for their loved one.
Instead, they can supplement their love and support with technology:
“Let Memo’s powerful AI be the companion and the safety net so families can stay connected, not consumed, and their loved ones receive constant medical care, companionship, connection with family and friends, reminiscence therapy and a genuine daily purpose free from isolation, fear and loneliness.”
Memo does that for you! And it can also be used to add memories, images, videos and documents to the family Memry Vault. Memo will schedule a family chat (according to your instructions) and remind the person being cared for to participate. Reducing isolation increases independent living, which saves the family money, stress and helps lift the burden from the NHS.
The Harsh Reality of Diagnosis:
Most individuals and families receive little support after diagnosis. Current research from Alzheimer’s Society UK (2024) shows the following statistics:
The majority of patients are seen once a year, if at all. The guidance provided to them is mostly generic printouts, brochures, and rarely adapted to their needs.
Dr Reshad Malik, Clinical Lead at Enfield Memory Service (Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust), recently stated:
“I give them advice after diagnosis. However, a tool to continuously guide and support them would make a huge difference and really drive home the key messages we are trying to impart with regards to post-diagnostic support.”
Memo fills the gaps, takes the lead, and delivers the personalised care program that has been tailored to their individual needs and lifestyle.

Technology leadership does not. a Memo make!
Our rapid developments and innovative solutions would not be possible without our AI and Data Science team, our interns and weekend keyboard warriors, and a team of passionate advisers, volunteers, and supporting dementia care organisations. Without you, Memo would just be a dream.
Technological Leadership:
From a technology standpoint, Memo is giant bounds ahead of the existing AI solutions for dementia support. We are very open and transparent about the full range of Memo’s functionality, and we have a very detailed roadmap beyond the current specifications for the next five years of intensive development.
Without cluttering this introductory page too much, please review the current spectrum of functionality in our FAQs. We think you will be very impressed.
OK… There is a ton of AI functionality, but in a snapshot, what are the three core purposes of Memo?
So… Memo is the heart and engine of all of this functionality, run by natural voice commands, and can even be integrated to control lights, television, security, and other home electronics.
At Memry, transparency and trust are at the heart of everything we do. Every pound you contribute is a step closer to transforming dementia care—and we take the stewardship of your support very seriously.
We are seeking £225,000 in initial funding to complete stage one development of Memo, our AI-powered companion, and the Memry Platform, our secure digital memory vault and family support system. This funding allows us to bring Memo to market and begin helping families without delay.
Funding Memo is for Everyone! Join us and become one of Memo’s Angels.
Yes!! You even get one of these amazing t-shirts and many other great perks!
Whilst Memry has enthusiastic volunteer supporters, AI and Data Science interns, and a team of passionate advisers, we must engage more skilled technical teams for the various specific functionality and integrations, and the cost of GPUs / data processing and upgraded hardware requirements is significant. We wanted to share some of the rounded costings for the next phase.
